The third-generation horseman had seen several of his horses tick higher and higher before the gavel fell, but had not seen one cross over the million-dollar mark. That changed Monday night as Hip 40, a daughter of Candy Ride he consigned for Matt Dorman's Determined Stud, went to Legion Bloodstock and Gracie Bloodstock for $1,075,000.
